+++ WE HAVE JUST WELCOMED OUR NEW FAMILY AT BRISBANE AIRPORT +++
A bit more than one year after Carmen & Mayra’s arrival, all of us can look back to so many positive and rewarding as well as a few challenging moments. And we could not have done without your support.
On 15 March 2025, a few of us (photo) have welcomed a young mother of 2 (daughter, 11, and son, 13) and her older sister from Syria. It was a bit of a rollercoaster after their original departure was delayed for unknown reasons by almost 2 weeks.
We are now busy helping them to feel comfortable in their new home and settle into a completely different, but safe world. And the best thing is: Both kids have started school only one week after their arrival. Wow!
What a great and welcoming community we call home. Thank you so much!

Our goal for 2025 is to settle another refugee family to our beautiful Tweed Shire as part of the Australian government’s Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP).
